Safura Consumer Products
Pure, natural food for everyday living.
We believe the food your family eats every day should be simple and honest: nothing artificial added, nothing good taken away.

What we make
Everyday food, kept simple.
We start with cold-pressed oils, the staples every kitchen uses. Every product listed here is made and on sale today.

One ingredient
One seed, one oil.
Every Safura oil is pressed from a single kind of seed. Nothing is blended in, and nothing is added.

How we make our oils
Four steps, nothing hidden.

Source
We buy whole seed and clean it before it is pressed.

Press
The seed is pressed mechanically, without added heat or chemical solvents.

Settle and filter
The oil rests so solids can settle, then it is filtered.

Bottle
The filtered oil is bottled and labelled.
Why cold-pressed
What is the difference from refined oil?
Most cooking oil on the market is refined. Cold-pressed oil skips the chemical and high-heat steps.
Refined oil
- Oil extracted from the seed with chemical solvents such as hexane
- Degummed and neutralised, usually with acid and caustic soda
- Bleached to lighten the colour
- Deodorised at high temperature to remove smell and taste
Safura cold-pressed oil
- Seed pressed mechanically, without added heat or solvents
- Left to rest so solids settle naturally
- Filtered
- Bottled, with nothing added
The result keeps the natural colour, aroma and taste of the seed.
What we stand for
Simple and honest food.
Nothing artificial added
Each oil has one ingredient, the seed it is pressed from. We do not blend, colour, flavour or add preservatives.

Nothing good taken away
We press without added heat or chemical solvents, and we do not refine, bleach or deodorise the oil.

Made where it grows
Safura is based in Nazipur, Naogaon, in the farming north of Bangladesh, among fields of mustard, rice and mangoes.

Questions
What do people ask about our oil?
What does cold-pressed mean?
The seed is pressed mechanically without added heat and without chemical solvents. Refined oils are usually extracted with solvents and then bleached and deodorised; cold-pressed oil skips those steps.
Is Safura oil refined?
No. Our oils are pressed, settled and filtered, but not refined, bleached or deodorised, so they keep the natural colour, aroma and taste of the seed.
Is it normal to see a little sediment at the bottom?
Yes. Cold-pressed oil is settled and filtered but not refined, so a little natural sediment from the seed can collect at the bottom over time. It is harmless and does not mean the oil has gone off.
How should I store the oil?
Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dark place, away from the stove and direct sunlight. Unrefined oil tastes best when it is used within a few months of opening.
