Cold pressing is a short process. Each step below is what happens to every batch.
Process
How is Safura oil made?

We buy whole, dry seed, check each lot by eye and clean it to remove dust, stones and damaged seed.
Press
The seed is pressed mechanically, without added heat or chemical solvents.
Settle and filter
The oil rests so solids settle naturally, then it is filtered before bottling.
Bottle
The filtered oil is bottled, sealed and labelled.
Sourcing
Where does the seed come from?
We buy whole seed from established seed traders and check every lot before it is cleaned and pressed. We will name regions and suppliers here as our supply becomes regular.
Hygiene and testing
What hygiene practices are in place?
We list only what we do now.
- The press, settling containers and filters are cleaned between batches.
- Seed and oil are kept in clean, covered containers, off the floor and out of direct sunlight.
